To heat a vacuum means the heating of a body in a vacuum. Vacuum heating is
always reached by radiation heating. From their design some heating elements are
better suitable than others. The following description of applications gives you
an overview of how bodies in a vacuum can be heated.
-
Flexible heating elements
Glued on the outside or inner surface of a vacuum pipe or a container and/or up-vulcanizes. Particularly suitably for objects with more curved and/or irregularly formed surface. Note: Kapton® is recommendable as only material for flexible heating elements for use in a vacuum
-
Cable heating elements
Spiral or wound; built into a vacuum chamber for heating by radiant heat.
-
Cast-in heating elements
built into a vacuum-chamber, so that the inner surface serves as source of radiant heat. Individual heating zones and/or distribution of the wattage on the inner surface possible.
-
Multicell heating elements
built into a vacuum-chamber for heating by radiant heat. Been suitable for particularly high temperatures and reliable heating.
