Today almost no branch and no manufacturing method can forgo vacuum technology. The application possibilities are as varied as the totality of the industrial production world. Vacuum technology has become the key technology of industry and research, and its meaning will further rise in future.
Four pressure areas rough vacuum, medium vacuum, high vacuum and ultrahigh vacuum correspond to the different industrial requirements. The biggest part of the applications concentrates upon the areas of rough and medium vacuum (1 to 10-3 mbar). Among these are industries like laser technology, food and packaging technology, lamps and tubes manufacturing, district heating, cold as well as climate technology and car industry.
In particular coatings of materials and products in vacuum are increasingly used in the most different industries as for example: Solar technology, Semiconductor industry, car industry or electronic industry. Reasons for this are risen requirements concerning quality, process security and environmental impact. In addition, vacuum technology is used in the food industry, the packaging technology or the beverage industry.
